Pro-Am At OMEGA Masters 2019

Entertainment’s big hitters set to compete at Crans-Montana. Justin Timberlake, Dennis Quaid, Anthony Mackie, Michael Peña and Niall Horan.

This year’s Pro-Am at the OMEGA Masters has attracted a diverse range of stars from the world of music and cinema, who along with their red carpet credentials share a passion for the game.

Adding star power from the golfing world are OMEGA ambassadors Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Tommy Fleetwood.

The famous golfers will each captain a team of celebrities as they tough it out for the trophy in the spectacular setting.

OMEGA’s celebrity guests are sure to keep the mood light, but they will be competing for their chosen charity, so spectators can expect focused play along with the festive spirit.

The star players

Justin Timberlake – Multi-talented actor and musician Justin Timberlake has sold more than 32 million albums worldwide, sold-out arenas across the globe, received numerous awards and nominations and has become one of the most highly respected entertainers in the business. He released the four-times platinum-selling song “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” from the filmTrolls, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was ultimately the best-selling U.S. single in 2016. The single marked Timberlake’s 10th Grammy and garnered a nomination for an Academy and Golden Globe Award. In February 2018, Timberlake released his fourth solo album, Man of The Woods, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and recently wrapped his sold-out world tour in support of the project. A gifted actor, he has appeared in a diverse slate of films including Alpha Dog, Bad Teacher, and Shrek the Third. He also earned strong reviews for his performance in the Academy Award- nominated The Social Network. Named “one of the 100 most influential people in the world” by Time in 2007 and 2013, Timberlake is a four-time Emmy Award winner for his appearances on Saturday Night Live, and recently added author to his resume with the autobiographical book Hindsight & All the Things I Can’t See in Front of Me.

Dennis Quaid – Dennis Quaid was born in Houston, Texas, to Juanita Bonniedale (Jordan), a real estate agent, and William Rudy Quaid, an electrician. He grew up in the Houston suburban city of Bellaire. He was raised a Baptist, and studied drama, Mandarin Chinese, and dance while a student at Bellaire High School. He continued study at the University of Houston, but dropped out before completing his degree. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue a film career where his brother, Randy Quaid, had already began to build a successful career. However, Dennis initially had trouble finding film roles, but began to gain notice when he appeared in Breaking Away and earned strong reviews for his role in The Right Stuff. Aside from acting, Quaid is also a musician, and plays with his band, "The Sharks". He holds a flying license and is a five handicap golfer.

Anthony Mackie – Anthony Mackie is an American actor who first came to prominence on screen playing Eminem’s nemesis, Papa Doc, in 8 Mile. This early performance caught the attention of many renowned filmmakers, such as Spike Lee, and his profile subsequently soared with starring roles in films including Million Dollar Baby, The Manchurian Candidate and The Hurt Locker. Perhaps most famously, Mackie is a member of the Marvel Comics family. He made his Marvel debut as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier – and has reprised the role in five more Marvel films since then, including the recent Avengers: Endgame. Intertwined throughout his film career, Mackie has also been seen in several theatrical performances both on and off Broadway, as well as TV series including the popular Black Mirror episode “Striking Vipers”. He is currently in production on the Netflix series Altered Carbon.

Michael Peña –  Michael Peña has set himself apart in Hollywood as an actor whose immense range has allowed him to work with many high-profile directors and well-known actors, and star in dozens of the most awarded films of his generation. His huge list of movie credits includes Ant Man, 12 Strong, Crash, Tower Heist, American Hustle, The Martian, Gangster Squad, Fury, Everything Must Go, and Collateral Beauty. He was most recently seen in Clint Eastwood's “The Mule” as well as the critically acclaimed anthology series “Narcos: Mexico” on Netflix, where he portrays real-life DEA Agent Kiki Camarena. Peña can currently be seen in the live-action film, “Dora the Explorer,” based on the popular animated series.

Niall Horan – Niall is known around the world for selling over 70 million records as part of the all- conquering One Direction. In 2017, he released his debut solo album “Flicker” (Capitol Records), which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 and topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 61 countries. It has since sold more than 2.8 million album equivalent units worldwide and been streamed over 2.6 billion times. Horan’s debut single, “This Town,” has sold more than 6 million track equivalent units globally with the follow up, “Slow Hands,” selling over 8.5 million.

Rory McIlroy

Winner of 4 Majors

With a golf club in hand since the age of two, Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy has proven himself to be a passionate player who is worthy of his place near the top of the world rankings. Since turning professional in 2007, he has claimed numerous professional victories and four Majors – the U.S. Open, the British Open and two PGA Championships. In 2012 and 2014, Rory was crowned the PGA Player of the Year, the European Golfer of the Year and numerous other prestigious titles. In addition to winning championships – Rory has also been a member of four victorious European Ryder Cup teams. 2015 provided another raft of victories and another European Tour Golfer of the Year award. In 2016, he won the Deutsche Bank Championship and the 2016 Tour Championship which put him at the top of the FedEx Cup. 2018 started strongly with a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. Just under a year later, in early 2019, Rory claimed the winner's trophy at THE PLAYERS Championship and The Canadian Open.
 

Sergio Garcia

Sergio Garcia has recorded multiple wins, with 10 on the PGA Tour and 21 international victories. In addition, the Spaniard is the most successful Ryder Cup golfer in history with 25.5 points. He has been on the European team 9 times and contributed substantially to its success in the victories of 2002, 2004, 2006, 2012, 2014 and 2018. In February 2017, Sergio Garcia won the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic and just two months later won his first ever Major at the 2017 Masters in Augusta, earning the coveted green jacket after a nail-biting sudden death playoff. In 2017 & 2018 Sergio took first place on home turf at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters, and in early 2017 he was victorious at the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic.
 

Tommy Fleetwood
OMEGA ambassador since 2018

English golfer Tommy Fleetwood is the latest addition to OMEGA’s already impressive roster of golfing ambassadors. The young player from Southport, a rising star on the European and PGA tours, has already claimed six international victories and is the 2017 Race to Dubai Champion. 2017 also saw the spirited player perform strongly in the US Open and World Golf Championships in Mexico. As well as being a key player in the victorious European team at the 2018 Ryder Cup, Tommy also won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship that same year. In July of 2019, Tommy achieved second place at the British Open, proving to the world that his first Major victory is just a matter of time.
