The OMEGA Speedmaster touches down at the famous Colette store in Paris

Following OMEGA's incredible space event in Houston in May, the Speedmaster story has now crossed the Atlantic, finding its way into one of Europe's most fashionable stores.

At a special breakfast, hosted in Colette's iconic water bar, a group of invited guests were today given a unique insight into OMEGA's space history.

Hosting the event was the renowned space journalist Michel Chevalet, as well as OMEGA's Vice President of product and customer service, Jean-Claude Monachon.

With the area transformed into a white spaceship, Chevalet recounted the history of the Speedmaster's relationship with space, from NASA's certified approval in 1965, through to the latest generation of ceramic watches. In fact, these new models were on show in the store's window, with a special tribute to Snoopy, who is the "face" of the new "Silver Snoopy Award" Speedmaster, commemorating the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission.

To add another dimension to the morning, French astronaut Michel Tognini made a surprise appearance, and gave his own personal views on the importance of the OMEGA Speedmaster in space.

With one of the world's most iconic watches in one of the world's trendiest stores, this was certainly an event to remember.
