ACTRESS NAOMIE HARRIS OPENS OMEGA’S JAMES BOND EXHIBITION IN BERLIN’S LUXURY DEPARTMENT STORE KADEWE
As Moneypenny, she has been the woman at James Bond’s side in both SKYFALL and SPECTRE. Yesterday at Berlin’s KaDeWe, actress Naomie Harris attended the opening of OMEGA’s James Bond exhibition at the luxury department store in the German capital; she explained her excitement at joining the Swiss watchmaker for the occasion
OMEGA has been James Bond’s watch of choice for 20 years. Celebrating this long partnership, as well as the German premiere of SPECTRE, OMEGA has proudly launched this very special exhibition. For three weeks, the KaDeWe’s atrium has been turned into a setting that is reminiscent of “Q’s lab”. Not only are all OMEGA 007 models on display, but many original props can be discovered as well. Another eye catcher is the strictly limited Aston Martin DB10 GT Bond Edition that is placed in the centre of the exhibition. To complete the set-up, all of KaDeWe’s windows have been redesigned using original costumes to represent scenes from SPECTRE.
The exhibition was opened by English actress Naomie Harris. Out on the floor, she was greeted by OMEGA President Stephen Urquhart, CEO of the KaDeWe Group Roland Armbruster and host Tanja Bülter.
Naomie Harris commented, "My life is generally very hectic, so when I do have time I really value it. I try to slow down time, especially since I live in such a fast paced city as London."
With Harris showing off the wonderful collection of OMEGA ladies’ watches, it was another chance for visitors to catch a glimpse of the OMEGA Seamaster 300 “SPECTRE” Limited Edition, the watch worn by Bond in the latest film. With its black dial and bezel and black and grey striped NATO strap, it has already gained a lot of attention and interest from 007 enthusiasts.
Stephen Urquhart was thrilled about Naomie Harris joining OMEGA for the occasion. He also explained why OMEGA and James Bond are such a great fit – and have been for the last 20 years.
“James Bond is a character who draws on this past. He overcomes challenges and shows great persistence and strength. Those are traits that match OMEGA’s own spirit, which is why the two brands have worked so well together over two decades.”
After the opening, visitors were able explore the exhibition and enjoy some canapés and a glass of champagne. Among the guests was German actor Clemens Schick, who starred in Casino Royale as the character Kratt.
The OMEGA James Bond exhibition is free of charge and will remain open until 14th November 2015.
